“If you are even thinking about attending, let me assure you that this will be the best investment you could make for yourself.  Between the wonderful writing sessions, the beauty of the island, the friendships of the women writers, it was life changing.”

--Tammy Coia, Mexico

"I arrived on Alonissos a tired and stalled writer in need of a huge dose of energy and faith. Ten days later, I left the beautiful island, the wonderful Julie Maloney, and the company of twelve congenial women, a new woman and refreshed writer. I have been working with joy and confidence on my third book ever since."

--Ruth Yunker, CA

Julie's skills and the magic of the island of Alonnisos joined forces with the AWA writing method for an inspiring retreat. This was my second year to attend. Julie promoted an atmosphere which encouraged the writer to experiment with new voices and dive into an ocean of new feelings. I experienced wonderful group support which motivated me to move forward in my writing while remaining in the present moment.

--Patricia Vogle, Germany

“Magical.  That’s the best word I can use to describe the experience of being on retreat in Alonnisos, Greece with Julie Maloney.  She assembled a group of kick-ass writers who were as generous as they were talented.  I discovered another breathtaking part of our planet, as well as the nascent writer in me waiting to be born.”
--Pascale Kavanaugh, NJ

“Julie Maloney put her whole heart, mind and soul into creating a retreat that is fulfilling on so many levels.  She brings together women from diverse backgrounds to a magical location and sets us free to explore our stories and the island.  I was traveling for 5 months around the world and participating in this retreat was one of the best choices I made along the way.”
--Lauren Rutten, VA

"What an experience! The method, setting, and affirming warmth of the Alonissos retreat, woven together, sparked my creative process and got the words flowing in new ways. Julie creates an atmosphere of positive support that overcame my initial nervousness. She is the teacher, mentor, and champion one dreams of. I deeply value connecting with this group of strong, generous women, and reconnecting with my voice and sense of myself as a writer. I went to Alonissos seeking to break through a longstanding block, and my hopes were richly answered."

-- Amy Blumenthal, Ohio

"In this glorious piece of paradise, I was able to move deeply into my own work and share that with amazingly talented and generous women. The structure of the retreat as led by Julie (Maloney), the exquisite beauty of Alonnisos, and the companionship of the other writers create an alchemy--a kind of mystical experience--unlike any other writer's retreat I've attended. It was transformative."

--Priscilla Orr, NJ

“The writing retreat is a safe environment, an opportunity for you to embrace new challenges…explore your own creativity…Julie is the perfect guide to take you on this journey.”
--Bibi Hamblin, Greece
